About Seani B

Seani B is an award-winning British radio presenter, DJ, and Grammy-winning producer, renowned as a leading figure in the global reggae and dancehall scenes. A staple of BBC Radio 1Xtra since its launch in 2002, he hosts the station’s flagship dancehall show, one of the most-listened-to programmes of its kind in the UK. His broadcasting career began on London’s pirate radio circuit before moving through Kiss FM, where he worked alongside the legendary David Rodigan. Dubbed “The Remix Kid” in the 1990s, he earned a Grammy in 2016 for his production work on Morgan Heritage’s Strictly Roots (Best Reggae Album) and has created official remixes for icons such as Lauryn Hill, Destiny’s Child, and Shaggy.

Born in London to parents from Dominica and Jamaica, Seani B serves as a vital bridge between UK urban music and Caribbean culture. Beyond the mic and the studio, he is a dedicated entrepreneur and co-founder of BrukOut, a multi-platform company that includes a record label, a weekly column in The Voice (Europe’s largest Black newspaper), and curated festival stages at events like Glastonbury. With a career spanning radio, production, and business, he continues to shape and elevate the cultural landscape both in the UK and internationally.
