Chris Pettifer is a lecturer in Music Production at Northampton College, where he has been teaching for over seven years. As a Curriculum Coordinator, he specialises in the co-design of industry-relevant briefs and embedding contemporary practices that prepare students for careers in music and media.
Chris began his career as a performing musician, playing in bands before moving into sound design and music production. He later worked in a professional London studio, training under Sefi Carmel, an award-winning composer, producer and mix engineer. During this time, he collaborated with a range of artists and contributed to projects across film, games and advertising. He has also delivered mobile music production workshops for young people in residential care, supporting creative development in community settings.
Alongside his academic role, Chris is a resident freelance recording and mix engineer at Plastic Tree Studios, producing music for a range of local and national clients.
